He was born on September 11, 1939, in Milot, Haiti, and went on to live a full and meaningful life marked by love for his family and dedication to those around him. Daniel made Laurelton his home, where he was cherished by friends, neighbors, and all who knew him.
After coming to America, Daniel purchased his taxi cab medallion to provide for his family with dedication and hard work. He later transitioned to a new career as a school bus driver, where he safely transported children for 20 years. His work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of countless families.
Daniel had a calm and relaxed personality that put others at ease. He enjoyed quiet evenings at home, often spent watching television, late-night sports, and movies. A lifelong baseball enthusiast, he faithfully followed both the Mets and the Yankees. When spring training began each March, the television was tuned to baseball and baseball only—a tradition that brought him joy year after year.
Daniel was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Celamise Rouchon. He is survived by his daughters, Danielle Rouchon and Andrelle Rouchon Perry; his son-in-law, George Perry; his sister, Catherine Rouchon. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember him with love.
Daniel enjoyed spending time with friends and family and those who knew him well where subjected to wicked sense of humor.
The Rouchon family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the relatives and friends who have visited, called, and supported us during this difficult time.
Daniel was a wonderful human being— a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend. The outpouring of love shown to us is a true reflection of the caliber of man he was.
