

A visitation for Dolores will be held Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 22439 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, New York 11428. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 86-45 Edgerton Blvd, Jamaica Estates, NY 11432. A cremation w/ final prayers will occur Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at All Souls Crematory and Chapel, 72-02 Astoria Blvd., East Elmhurst, NY 11370.

Dolores (Mom) “Dolly/Dul” was born to Lulu and Rosa Rambarran, a farmer and homemaker in Pomeroon, Guyana.
She attended teachers college in Georgetown, Guyana where she met her future husband Bernard (Mangal) “Percy” Singh. Upon graduation, she and her beloved Percy married on August 12, 1960. They both went on to have successful teaching and business careers.
They were blessed with a large and loving family which consisted of Gavin (wife: Jane, children: Katia, Sebastian, and Bonnie), Moses (wife: Catherine, children: Scarlett, Alex, Lauren, and Kyra), Debbie (child: Raquel), Gary (wife: Wendy, children: Gabrielle, Nicky, Jenny, and Chris), Sean (wife: Lizz, Children: Brian, Amy, and Erin). They were raised with patience, discipline, humility, and a desire for education.
Mom extended her family as often as she could to include, but not limited to, Henry, Gbenga, Thomas, Virginia, Sonny, Doug, Ian, Edel, Marcia, Haidar, and Solomon who she supported in every way possible.
She imparted to her children and extended family the love of reading, writing, riddles, and pursuing education as a means to challenge and improve themselves. She forever instilled in all she knew the importance of family unity.
Mom was always an educator at heart and never missed an opportunity to use her talents to make a point. She was soft-spoken, and always had time to listen, answer a question, and offer a welcoming meal. Anyone who came in contact with her left with a piece of her wisdom and philosophy. The philosophy was always do good for others, do well for yourself, and do more than you can.
Words cannot convey how dearly she will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Melba and Stella, husband Percy, and her parents.
