Fay Williams was born on July 14, 1928, to Samuel Smith and Alice Burton-Smith in Kingston, Jamaica. She was raised with a humble upbringing, rich in morals, love, and faith. Through the guidance of her parents, Fay was led to the Seventh-Day Adventist faith, which became a strong foundation throughout her life.
By watching her parents give back to others, Fay learned the importance of caring for humanity, her family, and her community. She lived a life rooted in Christ - patient, loving, caring, and true.
Fay was married to Walter George Tyrell Williams and within that marriage they had seven children. Othniel Williams has passed on, and she is survived by Herbert, Norman, Leroy, Jeanice, Patrick, and Rosilee. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Phyllis Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Fay faithfully attended Linden SDA Church every Sabbath until she was no longer physically able to make the commute. Even then, she continued her daily worship from home.
The love Fay poured into her children, grandchildren, great & great great grandchildren was unconditional and in abundance. She loved completely and was always willing to give her very last to the people she loved.
Emily, Fanny, Jenny, and Dawa came into Fay’s life as caregivers but became cherished members of the family. Their compassion, kindness, and unwavering care brought her comfort and joy and will always be remembered.
The measure of a life is often found in the impact it leaves behind, and Fay’s impact will continue to be felt for generations. Her presence brought comfort, wisdom, and a sense of belonging to those fortunate enough to know her. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the countless memories, lessons, and traditions she leaves in our care. As we move forward, may we carry with us the strength to face challenges with dignity, the courage to extend kindness without hesitation, and the commitment to make a positive difference wherever we can. In honoring her memory through our actions, we keep her legacy alive and ensure that her influence continues to guide and inspire us each day.
