Born January 25th, 1952, in Port au Prince, Haiti, she immigrated to the United States in 1966 and lived in Brooklyn NY as an adolescent. She then went on to live in Cambria Heights before final settling down in Flushing Queens. She worked for the Board of Education as French teacher. Florence was an active member of the Haitian community, a source of inspiration to her friends and colleagues, and a devoted daughter, sister, and mother to her son.
Survivors include her two sisters, Margaret Desmarets, Elsie Hector – Hernandez, and her only son Jean – Herbert Danier in addition many other siblings and nephews.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday, June 29th from 5-9pm. Funeral Mass: Monday June 30th 9:45am at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel (Queens Village, NY). Entombment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park (Farmingdale, NY).
