Gislene Thrasybule

Gislene was born on August 2, 1934 to parents, Joseph Cantave and Alice Pierre, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

She came to the United States in the 1960s, where she met her husband, Jacques Thrasybule, in New York City. Gislene and Jacques went on to have one child, Linda.

In the 1990s, Gislene retired after working over a decade in the New York State Criminal Courts and spent the rest of her retirement enjoying her favorite hobbies like sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and close friends.

Gislene is survived by her daughter Linda, her niece, Nancy, and her sister Ena.

A visitation for Gislene will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. The funeral mass will be on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Joachim & Anne Roman Catholic Church, 218-27 Hollis Ave, New York, NY 11429. The burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Rd, New York, NY 11415.
