Ramquarie and the late Fedrick Phillip.Jacob was a student at the St. Mary’s Ye Virgin Anglican
School in Beterverwagting and Mon Repos Primary before attending the
Annandale Gov’t Secondary School. He attended the Institute of
Statisticians and worked at the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) as a
Statistical Officer in Georgetown Guyana for 11 years.
In 1974, Jacob married Shamoon (Bibi) and their
relationship gave birth to two beautiful daughters, Christine and
Jackie.
Jacob migrated to the U.S. in 1980 and held several jobs
at Laboratories and manufacturing facilities performing numerical
calculations and quality control. He pursued Computer Information
Systems and Programming at Baruch College.
Jacob enjoyed helping and mentoring anyone in the fields
of Mathematics and Statistics, kept abreast with current affairs,
politics and often offered his opinion. He was very knowledgeable with
regards to the intricacies of horse racing and enjoyed all facets of
the sport.
Jacob loved his family dearly and was very supportive to the
very end. Health issues slowed him down in recent years but he
persevered and endured. His family is grateful to all who cared for
him during these years.
Jacob’s love, sincerity and genuine nature will be missed. He
was predeceased by his father Fedrick and brother Subryan and is
survived by his loving mother, brothers: Esau and David; sisters:
Enid, Pearl and Violet; children: Christine (and Andy) and Jackie;
granddaughter: Kareena and in-laws: Roy, Gaitree, Azeez, Moureen and
Dereck.
