Joseph Mastriano

Joseph Mastriano died peacefully on June 28, 2014. Before his service in WW 2, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He was retired from the NYC Dept. of Sanitation, and was a long-standing member of the VFW Post in Queens Village. Joe (known as Cawfee Joe to his friends) was married for 62 years to Mary until her death in 2012. He was the loving father of Jerry and his partner Elizabeth Heinze, Joann and husband Jim and Diane who was the caregiver of her parents for many years. Beloved grandfather of Philip Mistretta and his wife Mallory, James Jr., Matthew, and Joseph Morey and loving great grandfather of Gavin and Liam Mistretta. Survived by his sisters, Milly and Anna, sister-in-law Anita and brother-in-law Charlie. Cherished Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased his brothers Jerry and Anthony and sister Beatrice. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am at Stutzmann Funeral Home 224-39 Jamaica Ave. Queens Village, NY 11428 (718-465-3210.) Interment will follow funeral service at the veterans cemetery in Calverton, NY.
