Beloved mother and grandmother Lana R. Sabessar-Gokadze passed away peacefully in Brooklyn, NY on July 4, 2021 from a COVID related illness. She was 59 years old. Born April 7,1962 to Patricia Hoover and Victor Sabessar in the Barrackpore section of Trinidad, Lana was the middle child to her father and the youngest of her mother's children. At 16, Lana began a new life in the United States with her mother and siblings when they came to live in New York City.

Lana was vivacious, outspoken and loved to be in front of the camera. With love for her neighborhood, friends and family, Lana recorded her surroundings and photographed life's most precious moments daily, saying you could never lose time when you hold on to a memory. Lana's love for music was deep. She loved recording her favorite songs and television shows including, Shameless, Game of Thrones, Dexter and Lucifer, which she would watch, record and rewatch ten times in a row, because you never know what you can miss.

Lana loved to dance and be around people, she was the life of any party she went to. Most of all, Lana was a good friend. Her friends remember her for her kindness, her caring and as being a wonderful listener who always gave great advice. But above all else, Lana was a dedicated mother. She made it no secret that her children were her greatest treasure, her love for them and her grandchildren was unmatched and she cherished every moment she could spend with them.

Lana is survived by her mother Patricia Hoover, brother Joel Sabessar, sister Joanne Lisa Maharaj, her children Silo (Junior) Adames, Crystal April Adames and Allan Jason Blomquist, her grandchildren Evan Bowman, Allan Justin Blomquist, Donovan Jason Mclean and Amelia Amour Blomquist (Abby), in addition to her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

While Lana’s family grieves her loss deeply, they are choosing to remember Lana in a way that honors her spirit. Her family invites those who loved Lana to join them to celebrate her life at her Memorial Service this Sunday, July 18th at R. Stutzmann & Son Funeral Home, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428.

My mother love going to trader Joe's I believe for the fact you can buy , eat some and then return the item for a full refund without questions asked, I felt it gave her the power to eat grapes today and return for the strawberries tomorrow without a problem haha. Mommy everyday was a blessing you gave advice even if it meant I was in the wrong you always wanted the best even if the truth hurts. Everyday I hurt but now I know you are just preparing home for us in the future love you always your baby boy AJ
