Linda V. Parris

Linda Venetta Parris, made her transition from earthly life on Saturday, February 4, 2023. She was born on May 26, 1955, amid love and joy to the late Norman and Emma Parris of Hollis, New York. Linda is preceded in death by her two older brothers, James (Mickey) and Jeffrey Parris.

She attended Public School 35, Linden Junior High School and Benjamin Cardozo High School.

Linda experienced a full work history which began at age 13 while working during summers with the Neighborhood Youth Corp. She was also a Mary Kaye beauty consultant for some time before gaining employment with the New York Telephone Company, now known as Verizon. She was employed with the company from 1979 until she retired in 2016 as a Central Office Technician.

Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Christian Cultural Center.

She is best known for her love of the beach, music, travel, musical plays and shows and celebrations with friends and family. Linda was a devoted mother to her daughter, Nicole McCorkle and her cherished grandson, Jayson James Mehlman.

Linda was also very generous and always ready and willing to help those in need. She had a loving, cheerful spirit and the gift of laughter.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Nicole McCorkle, Grandson Jayson Mehlman, Godson Jay Zimmerman and a host of relatives and friends.

A visitation for Linda will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A committal service will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Greenfield Cemetery, 650 Nassau Road, Uniondale, NY 11553.
