Lionel Pierre is affectionately known as “dad, friend, brother, uncle, cousin” was born in Leogane, Haiti, to his loving parents Odilia and Antoine Pierre on June 6, 1963. He was raised in Haiti until he migrated to America in the 1980s. Lionel found joy in food, music, dancing, joking, laughing, going to church, and taking extraordinary care of his daughters. Above all, you couldn’t tell him anything about his suits and cologne. Lionel was known to all as charismatic, funny, loving, and hospitable. Overall, he was a ball of energy who captured the attention of everyone in the room. Knowing Lionel meant you were afforded the opportunity to know pure authentic love.
On March 23rd, 2022, Lionel transitioned to be with our awesome God and fought a long fight. He departed from this world at the young age of 58. His untimely death left his loved ones devastated. In 2010, he was diagnosed with Renal failure and was put on dialysis, in the same year he was diagnosed with a heart murmur. In 2016 his eyesight started to decline leading to overall blindness. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family through all of his health inclinations. Even with all of these health issues he laughed plenty, danced daily, gave generously, and loved unconditionally. He leaves behind five children (spouses), and six grandchildren. The Pierre-Daniels family: Beatrice and Tykeem, The Pierre-Miller family: Edeline and Diashawn, The Pierre-Maurice family: Marie, Matthew, Guerby, The Pierre-Hyppolite family: Johanne, Jean-Paul, Kimberly, Deborah, Jhouney, The Pierre-Numa family: Westcha, Wilgimps, Wilgimpson, Sarah and siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He will be missed by many, and his memory will live on forever. How can we ever forget his smile? His kindness, His generosity, His strength, His courage, and the knowledge he has passed on will live in our hearts forever. We are happy he gained his wings to be with God, along with others who transitioned, he will be truly missed.
