I will never forget first meeting Lishon during the Celebration of Life for King Kishon. She opened her home to us with such open arms, making sure we had a warm place to rest our heads and food in our stomachs. Even in times of grief, she was the true light of the party. May you and the family find peace and strength in the Lord's love as we navigate this difficult path together, leaning on our faith and community for comfort during these trying days. We take comfort in praying that she is now reunited with her beloved son, resting in the arms of our Father in Heaven. Her vibrant light will continue to shine close to our hearts every single day as we share our beautiful memories of her together.

Stepping back into the world after being away since 1982 is a journey few can truly understand, but my niece Lishon became my anchor. In the overwhelming roughness of learning how to live in this new society, her steady presence kept me from drifting away. She was my rock when everything else felt unfamiliar.

Our bond runs deep, forged through a lifetime.

Through all the ups and downs, my heart always goes back to those early, beautiful days of freedom. I cherish the memory of taking the circle boat ride around Manhattan together. Drifting past the Statue of Liberty, feeling the open air, and just celebrating being alive—those are the moments that define us. 

Looking back, we’ve always had each other's backs especially in spades. In the old days, my best partner and I ruled the streets; nobody could touch us or get on our level. Things changed recently when she sat with Shantel this winter they had to learn that was my partner 😆 but they quickly learned their lesson and lost that round.

You can see it so clearly in the photos; she was filled with pure joy. That light, that freedom, and that love are the memories we choose to hold onto as we move forward together.

There are truly no words to express the deep sadness we feel over the loss of our sweet niece. She brought so much light and joy into our family, and her memory will always be cherished by all of us.

Please know that I am holding each of you so close in my heart during this incredibly painful time. I love you all so much, and I am right here to support the family in whatever way you need, no matter what.
