

Louise Leconte passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on August 24, 1933, in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic to her beloved parents, Martha Wells and Richardson Leconte.
She spent her childhood and early life on the beautiful island of Haiti. A lifelong nurturer and caregiver, Louise devoted herself to the well-being of others; studying nursing at L École d’art Ménager and eventually teaching, sharing her knowledge and compassion with the next generation of medical professionals across hospitals including Hopital Canapé Vert and L'hopital General.
Her journey brought her to the United States in 1968, where she continued her career in healthcare across several hospitals, including Queens General, Park Crescent, and Lincoln, quietly dedicating her life to others with strength, warmth, and grace.
In April of 1958, she married Jacques Georges Leconte, with whom she built a life rooted in faith, family, and deep love. Together they raised a family that continues to carry forward her legacy of compassion, resilience, and fierce devotion.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Martha Wells and Richardson Leconte; her husband, Jacques Georges Leconte; her granddaughter, Samantha Marie Clarissa Louise Bartlette; and her siblings, Rita Leconte, and Claude Leconte.
She is survived by her children, Yanick Peggy Leconte, Georges Henri Leconte, Marjorie Leconte, and Alix Charles Leconte; her grandchildren, Ariel Louise Leconte, Bianca Louise Leconte, and Georges Anthony Leconte; her great-granddaughter, Leila Rose Bartlette; her godchildren Lisa Jean and Gary Eugene and her sisters, Marianne Leconte and Yvanne Duval. She is also remembered by her nieces and nephews including Amicilia Leconte, Paul E. Leconte, Catalina Beauvais, Jean Leconte, Marilyn Leconte, Phillip Leconte, Constance Leconte, Paul E. Leconte, Marlene Altieri, Errol Altieri, and Ronald Altieri; a host of cousins, extended relatives, and cherished friends who loved her dearly.
Louise’s life was marked by a steadfast and unwavering faith. She touched many lives through her work in caregiving and the family she nurtured and held close. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
