Margaret M. Schaefer (nee Cotter) passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the age of 92. Margaret was a resident of Queens Village, New York. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to an Irish immigrant father, and a mother of Irish descent. She worked for over fifty years for the same law firm as a secretary and then as the bookkeeper and assistant office manager. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Rider, her son, William E. Schaefer (Michelle), and her daughter, Suzanne M. Sideris (Chris). She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Danielle Schaefer Etienne (Keph), Jennifer Lynn Schaefer, William G. Schaefer, Alexander W. Sideris, and Matthew T. Sideris. In 2024, she was over the moon to welcome her great-granddaughter, Emilia Etienne.
