Marjorie was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Odette Ariot and Dieudonne Lovinsky. After a battle with lung cancer, she passed away at the age of 53 on January 11th, 2024 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Caleb Leconte and husband, Jean Marie Leconte. As well as her siblings; Ernst Ariot, Joseph Moise Ariot, Magalie Gedeon, and her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Carole Lavache.
Marjorie attended College Marie-Anne and matriculated to College Byrd to receive certification in Secretary Administration. Afterwards, Marjorie immigrated to New York City in July 2001 and moved to Connecticut in 2003 where she met her husband Jean Marie and gave birth to Christopher on May 26th, 2006. It is there they forged a home and built their lives together. During this time frame, Marjorie devoted 25 years in the retail space. Having a strong work ethic, she moved up in the department to serve in different leadership positions in order to support her family. She was a devout Christian and heavily participated in church prayer groups and activities.
Marjorie "Mama" Ariot was a very strong person. Even when times were tough, she always had a smile, a joke, and a way to make everyone feel that things would be okay. She loved music, dancing, and making people laugh. She was a loved mother, wife, sister, friend, aunt, and godmother, and will be greatly missed.
