Nesly Andre Breton

Nesly was one of 7 children to the late Louis and Dieudonne Breton. He resided in Hollis, Queens from the 1980s until the time of his passing.

As a child, Nesly was very inquisitive, often taking apart his toy cars so that he could see how they worked before trying to put them back together. He was also an accomplished athlete, having competed in the late 1970s Golden Gloves boxing tournament at the Felt Forum in Madison Square Garden before transitioning into a high-level long distance runner. Nesly was passionate about running. He would sometimes join short distance competitions for enjoyment and training. He has 15 long distance races on record dating back to the early 1980s (13 in NYC, 1 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and 1 on Long Island) with his best performance coming in 1991 when he completed the NYC Marathon in less than three hours, beating the marathon average time by over an hour.

Nesly Breton was preceded in death by his father Louis, Sr., mother Dieudonne, and brother Louis, Jr. He is survived by 4 brothers, 1 sister, and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
