Paul Woods was born January 30th, 1963 to Kay and Terry Woods. He had an older brother, Kevin, and a younger brother, Timmy. Although he was the middle child, he made it impossible to forget him. He excelled in school and was exceptionally athletic. He could regularly be found playing handball or practicing martial arts, and he participated in national gymnastics competitions. His father always used to tell him "Slow down, Paul," but that was not an option for him. As a young man he took over a landscaping company and never looked back. He owned and operated his business until his last night, which he spent attempting to fix a lawnmower that was likely as old as he was. While landscaping was never a glamorous job, Paul took great pride in his work. He always paid attention to the finer details and made sure that people were happy with how their property looked. And more often than not, his customers became his friends as he never missed an opportunity to connect with others.
Paul Woods married Linda Lago and they brought two boys into the world, Danny and Bobby. When his children were still young he would sing: "Daddy loves his little boys, Dan and Bob, my pride and joys." This sentiment would guide Paul for the rest of his life as fatherhood gave him his greatest source of purpose. He dedicated himself to teaching his sons everything he had to offer. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades and would always make himself available if something needed repairs. But even more importantly, he would make quality time for his sons. Whether it was boardgames, chess, sparring, video games, pool, or just talking around a campfire - he was always trying to bond with his children. He supported their every endeavor in academics, art, music, career, or hobbies and he always got to know their friends. He put his all into being a father and it showed to everyone who knew him. And despite the fact that his marriage to Linda ended, they never stopped working together to be the best parents and friends possible.
Later on in life, Paul was a dedicated partner to his love, Beth Treuhaft, and a committed grandpa to Bobby's dog, Utley. He moved mountains to create a home that could hold the massive amount of love, fun, and friends that circled them constantly. He had a gift for making others feel like he could be their best friend upon first meeting him. He was always welcoming, always willing to share his wisdom, always ready to stop and help a stranger. How he managed his garden is an appropriate parallel to how he lived his life - by always trying to raise people up and help them grow. He did not have one greatest achievement, but instead had innumerable examples of achieving an authentic, compassionate connection with the people he met and dedicated his life to.
Paul is survived by his two children, Danny and Bobby, his partner, Beth, and his younger brother, Timothy. He also leaves behind countless others who saw him as family, a friend, a mentor, a second-father, a living legend.
