Today, our hearts are filled with both profound sorrow and immense gratitude as we gather to celebrate the extraordinary life of Reynold Ambroise - a beloved father and a true giant among us.
Born in Bainet, Haiti, Reynold embarked on a journey that defied expectations. He crafted a vibrant and incredible life for himself, full of creativity and community that touched and inspired countless souls.
Reynold's remarkable thirst for life and unyielding passion were the very essence of his being, fueling him to the glorious age of 99. Reynold didn't just live: he embraced every moment with an intensity and joy that was uniquely his. A true master of his own destiny, he shaped his days with intention and lived on his own terms, fueled by an unwavering spirit and an infectious zest for life.
To know Reynold was to know a man of many talents. He poured his heart into every role he held: a gifted musician, who played the saxophone not just with skill but with soul. He played with some of the well-known legends of Haitian music, such as Ansy Derose and Gèrard Dupervil; and he was a member of the renowned Haitian Orchestre de Raoul Guillaume. Reynold was also a master carpenter, whose hands built not only structures, but lasting memories for his loved ones; a devoted brother; a husband; and a steadfast father, who guided his daughters with wisdom and strength. To his nieces and nephews, he was a cherished uncle, and to his ever-growing family, he was the adored grandfather and great-grandfather, affectionately known to all as "Papa Nono."
Reynold's life was a testament to living fully, authentically, and with an open heart. He touched so many lives with his presence, his kindness, and his profound ability to connect with others. He leaves behind an indelible legacy—a rich tapestry of memories and lessons. He will never be forgotten.
Reynold is survived by his beloved sister, Solange Berthoumieux; his devoted daughters, Nicole Ambroise, Marie Carmel Philippeaux, Nadia Almonor, Dominique Ambroise, and Dorice Ambroise; and by his many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his spirit forward.
He is now reunited with those who preceded him: his beloved wife, Claire Ambroise; dear brothers, Roger Ambroise and Gilbert Ambroise; his beloved sisters Marie Charlotte Ambroise, Marie Claude Beliotte, and Therese Fleurantin.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Papa Nono. Your melodic spirit will forever play in our hearts.
