Born in Albion, Trenchover, Guyana on April 6, 1944, Mr. Ramsingh attended Scotchdale Elementary School, Chandisingh secondary school in Rosehall and Technical College. He came to America on a student visa in 1966 where he later obtained his degree in nursing. He attended school for mechanics and real estate. For a time he worked for Berkeley, making cameras. However, with a strong passion for nursing, he went on to be a geriatric nurse for almost 50 years before happily retiring at the age of 65.
Ricknauth was well known and very loved in the local Hindu community for his great devotion and selflessness for over 30 years.
Mr. Ramsingh is survived by his loving wife Kalawatty, daughter of Pandit Bisoon Dyal Misir, their 2 daughters, Vidya and Padma, 2 son-in-laws Latchman and Kalam, 4 grandsons, Suresh, Naresh, Rajesh, and Aaron, 1 granddaughter, Celine, 1 grandson-in-law, Kiefer and 1 great granddaughter on the way.
He will undoubtedly be missed by anyone who has had the simple pleasure of receiving his smile.
As he would say, “Don’t cry for me… just pray.”
May our love light his way.
