Simone M. Alexandre

Simone M. Alexandre, 67, passed away on June 3, 2026. Born on November 1, 1958, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Simone later made New York her home after immigrating on June 14, 1982, carrying with her a quiet strength and a steady hope that would shape the life she built and the love she gave.

On July 15, 1986, Simone married Lyonel Alexandre in Brooklyn, NY. Together they shared the joys and burdens of family life, holding close the people who mattered most. Simone was the loving mother of Lionel Junior Alexandre and of Brian Alexandre, who tragically passed on July 1, 1998—a loss carried with enduring tenderness and grace.

Simone was the daughter of Lelio Louis and Azema Gateau. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers—Alupcien, Albert, Ageuor, Jhony, and Wilson—and her sisters—Ivana, Adeline, Marthe, Alourde, Eliza, Eline, Jacqueline, Joanne, Jeanine, and Joanne.

To know Simone was to witness kindness expressed not in grand declarations, but in daily devotion—humility that never asked for recognition, loyalty that never wavered, and a work ethic that spoke for itself. She was a model employee, giving 20 years of dedicated service at Howard Johnson Hotel and 10 years at Rose Castle. Even in her most difficult moments, Simone’s instinct was to care for others; her generosity and steadfast spirit remained present, even from her hospital bed.

Simone was a devoted wife and mother, the cornerstone of our family, who showered us with love while ensuring that our basic needs are met. Outside of work and church, Simone enjoyed spending quality time with her husband and son watching soccer and basketball enthusiastically. Our dining table will never be the same without our star cordon bleu. Simone cherished the simple pleasures of spending times with family and friends. She will remain forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Sts. Joachim & Anne Roman Catholic Church, 218-26 105th Ave, Queens Village, NY 11429, on June 20, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

A Committal Service will be held at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on June 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
