Theodore Velasquez

Theodore Velasquez was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, January 5th, 1965, to the parents of Teodoro Velasquez and Rosaura Ramirez. He was the oldest of a family of five siblings. As a child he had a big heart and a strong desire to be successful in life. In pursuit of a better life, His family journeyed from Puerto Rico to the New York when he was 6 years old. He lived in the Bronx and later settled in Queens.

Ted achieved his education in New York. He attended Job Core. In his Career He worked cutting, handling, and fabricating glass. He was a devoted worker who always gave 110% to the task at hand. Outside of work, He enjoyed fishing with his brothers and stepsons, hiking, exploring nature, and binge-watching Kungfu movies. Some of his favorite movies included "36 Chambers" and "Drunken Fist." He was also an avid listener of 80s Hip Hop music, especially artists like DJ Grand Master Flash, Curtis Blow, Run DMC.

Ted was married to the love of his life Soelia Velasquez on September 11, 2002, and have had they had this unbreakable bond of love. Their love song “Always and Forever” has been the theme of their love story.

Ted had a strong sense of protecting those he loved and was always willing to go the extra mile to provide support. He was a beacon of love for all those fortunate enough to cross his path. He had the rare gift of telling the hard truth, which may sting at first but ultimately helped those around him in the long run.

After a brave battle with illness Ted went on to be with the Lord October 14th, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife, Soelia Velasquez, his son Joshua, his daughter Nancy, stepsons Jeremy and Mikey, brothers Tony and Victor, sisters Maribel and Rosa, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Beloved son of Rosaura Ramirez and the late, Teodoro Velasquez.

Ted will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a willingness to always lend a helping hand. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

A visitation for Theodore will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. Following the visitation will be a cremation prayers from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at All Souls Chapel & Crematory, 72-02 Astoria Boulevard S, East Elmhurst, NY 11370.
