Wiley W. Tinkler, 78, of Queens Village, NY, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025. He was born on June 28, 1947, in Riverside, California to the late Harris Jean and Kathryn Tinkler. Wiley graduated from Pasadena High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Army, where he proudly served in the Vietnam War. Soon after being honorably discharged from the US Army, Wiley married Elinor R. Tinkler and settled in Queens Village, NY. Together they raised their 2 children, Steven and Carol.
Wiley deeply loved and cared for his family and passed his precious values onto his two children. Wiley deeply loved and cared for his wife and was a dedicated husband for 39 years until Elinor passed in 2008. Wiley was a dedicated father to his children and granddaughters.
Wiley dedicated 33 years of service to the Metro North Commuter Railroad. He loved fishing, the many dogs he cared for over the years, his family, his friends and his country as he was a true patriot. Wiley was tough and always protected his loved ones but had a soft side for his daughter and granddaughters. He had a great laugh and a unique sense of humor that was appreciated by all.
Wiley is survived by his two children, Steven and Carol and his five Granddaughters Tatum, Sabrina, Kendall, Amanda and Willow. Wiley will be deeply missed by his family, extended family, friends, neighbors and all those who were privileged to know him.
A Celebration of Life for Wiley will be held at R. Stutzman and Son Funeral Home, 224-39 Jamaica Avenue, Queens Village, NY 11428, on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 4 to 8PM.
