

Wilhelmenia McLean, of Jamaica, NY passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on November 19, 1939 in Dillon, SC. Throughout her life, she was known for her dedication to family, community and personal pursuits.
Wilhelmenia was an excellent student, graduating from Gordon High School. Her commitment to education was evident from an early age, setting the foundation for a life of achievement and service.
Wilhelmenia was deeply devoted to her family, always there to support them. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dixon. She is survived by her dear children, Regina, Rhonda and Douglas III and her cherished grandchildren, Rodney Curtis, Kylie, Dayn Jr and Kaylie Johnson; Quinton and Douglas Young IV; Darren Baker Jr, Omar Atkinson Jr, Ryan Washington, Cherish Atkinson and Autumn Washington. Her sons in law, Dayn Johnson Sr and Omar Atkinson and daughter in law Anna Young. And her only living aunt, Beverly McLeod.
Wilhelmenia was also known for her personal interests and hobbies. She was an excellent basketball player and cook, and she had a passion for gardening. Her talents and interests brought joy to those around her.
A dedicated member of the Bell Yeager Freewill Baptist Church in Durham, NC. Wilhelmenia worked actively in the church and was a choir member. Her faith and community involvement were central to her life.
Wilhelmenia will be remembered for her unwavering love, for her family, her community spirit and her many personal talents. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at R. Stutzmann & Son, located at 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY. The visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 21, 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Her final resting place will be at Beechwood Cemetery in Durham, NC.
