

Ann Coulacos, of Quincy, MA passed away June 12, 2025. She was 97. Born at home on a farm in Northbridge, MA to Greek immigrant parents Anthony and Toula (Demas) Coulacos. A resident of North Quincy for most of her life, Ann built a life rooted in family and service to others. Ann graduated from North Quincy High School and spent the majority of her career working at CBS for over 3 decades, starting in a clerical position and eventually held a management position as Traffic Manager at WEEI Radio, when it was a Boston talk and news radio station. In the first part of her life, she attended the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Boston. In the late 1950's, along with her family, she was a strong supporter of the founding of St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox church in Quincy (now Braintree). Ann was involved in the Philoptochos, served as President, sang in the choir, was a Girl Scout Leader, and dedicated herself to philanthropic causes. She displayed generosity with her time, money and spirit. She had many friends throughout her life, as well close relationships with a large extended family. She was known for her positivity, empathy, acceptance and inclusion of others, never wanting anyone to feel left out, she embraced diversity. She was a woman ahead of her time in many ways. She was a natural leader, with or without a title. She kept calm in crisis and was the rock in her family, as well as a soft place to land. A great listener, wise and discerning, she equally delighted everyone with her quick wit and sense of humor. She was creative, artistic, and hosted memorable family parties, showing love down to the smallest details. She was lovely, classy, authentic and always made people laugh and feel seen, heard and loved. She epitomized the phrase "salt of the earth" with a slight mischievous side to keep everyone smiling.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, her brothers William, Louis and Spero Coulacos and niece Cate Coulacos Prato. She is survived by her beloved sister, Betsie Coulacos, nieces Melissa Coulacos and Vanessa (Coulacos) Holm, as well as several great nieces and nephews and cousins. Her loving impact on her family is immeasurable and will live on in them.
A private family service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery.
Ann loved animals and for many years fed neighborhood strays and supported animal welfare organizations. If you feel so inspired, you may make a contribution in her name to your favorite animal shelter or rescue.
