Born in Boston to his (late) parents Anna (Jasinski) and Vincent Sr., and dear brother to the predeceased Vincent Jr., Mr. Anderlionis (“Pinky”) would graduate from South Boston High School in 1963. Before embarking on a career in the sheet metal trade, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and did two tours in Vietnam. Along with the scars brought home by war, the experience was also life changing for the better. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he met the love of his life, Hiroko Kinjo. It was love at first sight, and with his persistent nature, they would soon marry. After completing his service to the country, his wife and daughter, Yoshie, would soon follow and be reunited in South Boston. From there, they would move to Quincy and have three more children, Asahi Masao, Anthony Jr., and Vincent.
“Dad” enjoyed going to his kids’ youth games and later in life, would even trek to a baseball field on a Sunday morning to watch his adult kids play. An avid Boston sports fan his whole life, the Red Sox and Patriots were his must-see TV, no matter how successful a season they were having. He would accompany his sons on Boy Scouts camping trips or take the family camping at a local KOA. A simple man and not one for travelling, he still created fond memories on Cape Cod, in Bermuda, Lake Winnipesaukee, and Disney World. He loved to tan at Wollaston Beach and go for family walks at Castle Island. As a grandfather, “Pop” relished being around Anthony, Kyle, Devin, Drew, and Braden. His void is felt by all, but he left us all with a treasure trove of memories. He is survived by his wife, four children, and five grandchildren.
The family will hold a private farewell at Deware Funeral Home and he will be interred at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, joining his parents in eternal peace.
