Choi Ha Ng

September 11, 1929April 27, 2020

Our mother passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2020 at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of the late Yuk Doon Ng; devoted mother of Jean Soo Hoo and husband Grover Soo Hoo, Maria Ng, Victor Ng, Lily Ng and husband Kent Yee; loving grandmother of Jason Soo Hoo, Derek Soo Hoo, Joshua Yee, Jacob Yee, and Jocelyn Yee; cherished great grandmother of Jackson Soo Hoo and Katon Soo Hoo; loving sister-in law of Peter Eng and wife Debbie Lam.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there will be a private funeral service on Thursday May 14, 2020 at 11:00am at Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170 followed by procession to Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston. A Memorial Service will be planned for a later date.

We pay tribute to our extraordinary mother who demonstrated unconditional motherly love. She was the rock that held our family together. Our mom worked very hard and made many sacrifices to be sure her family always had food on the table, clothes on our backs, and a roof over our heads. We learned from her to love God, be kind and caring to people, persevere through tough times, and be determined to do our very best. She was a blessing not only to her family but also highly regarded by those who had the privilege to know her. She was a long-time member at the Boston Chinese Evangelical Church in Chinatown, member of the Chinese Baptist Church of Greater Boston in Quincy during her later years and an active member of the Ng Family Benevolent Association.

We will miss her dearly and know that she and Baba will be watching over us from heaven. Thank you Mama for all you have done for us, for all the wisdom you have taught us, and for being the kind, caring, humble woman that you are, to us and to so many others. We love you forever and ever!

May we all honor her by celebrating her life and carrying her legacy always and forever. Rest In Peace Mama! John 14:27 (NIV) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Family and friends, feel free to leave condolences or share a memory of how you met our mom and how she touched your life.

We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Brigham ICU who cared for our mom in her final hours. Special thanks to Chaplain Bridgete for praying for her as we were virtually by her bedside. She left us peacefully knowing that her son, Victor, is slowly recovering in the building across from hers.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to: Ng Family Benevolent Association of Boston, Inc. 22 Tyler Street, Boston, MA 02111 Where the family have been long-time members. Please designate “In memory of Choi Ha Ng” in the memo line.

Fun times in Quincy!
I always remember your mom's independence and ability to get things done! I loved our walks to explore the neighborhood and its close proximity to so much delicious Chinese food - including stir-fried lobster in ginger and garlic sauce!
We miss her!
Love, Dorothy, Bonnie, Christina & Frank
