Eileen C Fong

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Eileen (Chow) Fong of Newton, MA on October 3, 2024. Known as Fong by many she enjoyed years of traveling, playing mah jong, volunteering at senior centers and cooking meals for the elderly and her family. She will be missed by many.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband George Fong, her mother Kit Wah Szeto, and father Wing Cheong Chow and sisters Qiong Chow and Lorna Chow and brother Guo Jian Chow.

She is survived by her daughter Virginia So and partner Seymour Shait, her grandchildren Christina Tyler, (husband Raquim Tyler), Lili Borrego (husband Al Borrego) and Kenneth So, her great grandchildren Tristan Tyler, Jordan Tyler, Ethan Borrego, and Brynlee Borrego, brothers Ming Chow (wife Fanny Chan), John Chow, sisters Mimi Chow and Siu Mai Leung (husband Ki Lau Leung), as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Visiting hours will take place at Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St, Quincy on October 16 from 6-8 p.m. and October 17 from 10-11:30 a.m. immediately followed by a procession and burial at Forest hills Cemetery.
