OBITUARY

Eleonore "Lore" Reck

December 3, 1930June 26, 2018

Aunt Lore, as she was known affectionately by almost everyone, was one of the most giving and loving people on this earth. Her heart was always with others including her nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers.

Aunt Lore grew up in Germany prior to and during World War II. During those difficult years, Aunt Lore left school early in order to work and help support her family. This was a testament to her giving heart and love for her family.

When she arrived in the U.S. in 1965 to help her sister, Edeltraud, raise her two sons, Joe and Tom, she lovingly and instantly became a second mother to them.

Aunt Lore worked hard all her life. In her typical caring fashion, she worked in various jobs taking care of elderly patients, most recently at the Fenno House where she retired at the young age of 84.

She will be missed by her nephew, Joe Swindells of Mansfield, MA and nephew, Tom Swindells and his wife, Caroline Chan Swindells, of Stoughton, MA, along with her family in Germany that includes her sister, Doris Minor, niece, Gabi Minor and her husband, Torsten Stieler-Minor.

Aunt Lore was truly a gift from Germany and left this world a better place.

The family will receive visitors on Monday from 4pm to 8pm in the Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St., Quincy.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10am in St. Chrysostom’s Episcopal Church, 1 Linden St., Quincy. Services will conclude with interment in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lore’s memory may be made to: American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you & your family at this sad time. I remember going over your house as kids...elementary school age & always having a snack and chatting. <3
