

ROBERT “BOB” W. WHITEHEAD, of Quincy, passed away at the Seasons Hospice in Milton, after a period of declining health, on October 23, 2015 at the age of 87. Bob was a lifelong resident of Quincy and proud Army Veteran, serving during WW II.
He was a graduate of North Quincy High School class of 1945 and from Northeastern University class of 1952. Bob worked as a Field Auditor with Travelers Insurance Company, from 1952 to 1985.
He was involved in many Masonic organizations such as St. Stephen’s Royal Arch Chapter, South Shore Commandry Knights Templar, Rural Lodge A.F. & A. M., Aleppo Temple Shriners, Temple Council of Royal and Select Masters, Taleb Grotto, Scottish Rite and the Wollaston Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Bob served in many roles with the Masons including High Priest, Mt. Wollaston Royal Arch Chapter, Illustrious Master and Treasurer for Friendship Council Royal and Select Masters, Grand Treasurer for the Grand Council of Royal and Select Master Masons of Massachusetts, Treasurer for St. Stephens Royal Arch Chapter and as an Advisory Board Member and Assembly Dad of the Wollaston Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls. He also was a proud blood donor for many years as well as an avid Boston Bruins Fan. Bob is predeceased by his dear wife Nancy J. Whitehead, who passed away on April 3rd. Nancy passed away just shy of their 62nd anniversary.
He is survived by his loving children Gail Butler and her husband Ed of New Jersey and Neil Whitehead of Quincy. Visiting hours will be held in the Deware Funeral Home 576 Hancock Street QUINCY, on Tuesday October 27th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Bob’s memory to the Salvation Army 6 Baxter Street Quincy, MA 02169.
