

Ms. Angela Kay Jacobs of 5431 Red Springs Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill at the age of 45. Ms. Jacobs was born October 5, 1965 in Scotland County. She was diagnosed with Lupus in 1984. In 1998, her kidneys began to fail, which caused her to be on dialysis. Her brother, Dr. Willie Jacobs, donated his kidney to her in 2001. She was very active in her church and community until the early part of 2010 when her health began to decline. She was well loved and taken care of by her family and friends. Angela was a member of Mt. Elim Baptist Church where she was very active with the music and the youth of the church. She sang for many years with her family, "The Jacobs Family." She is survived by her parents, Willie and Elsie Jacobs of Red Springs; a brother, Dr. Willie R. Jacobs of Red Springs ; two sisters, Linda J. McPhail of Shannon , Charlene J. Locklear and her husband Reverend Anthony R. Locklear of Pembroke; three nieces, Heather McPhail, Ashley McPhail, and Ashton Locklear; two nephews, Garret Locklear, and Austin McPhail; one great-niece, Nylah Grace Johnson; and her grandfather, Newberry Locklear of Raeford. She also leaves behind her musical brothers of " The Jacobs Family," Kevin D. Locklear, Paul Bissett, Cory Locklear, Clarence Dial Jr., and Brother Freeman Locklear. The family will receive friends and relatives between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00pm, Wednesday, January 5 at Mt. Elim Baptist Church, and at other times at the home of Willie and Elsie Jacobs. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm, Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Mt. Elim Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Brewington and Reverend David Hunt officiating, directed by Crumpler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
