

Aubrey was born in Parsons, Kansas to the late Alice Tilman Gaddis and Elmer B. Gaddis on March 21, 1929.
He was a Vietnam veteran, Special Forces Medic serving proudly in the US Army for 20 years, a graduate of Robeson Community College where he majored in accounting, a D license holder skydiver, expert woodworker, and Special Forces Association member who took great pride in “Green Beret Country”.
Aubrey was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather above all. He was a good and honorable man that will live forever in our hearts.
Aubrey was pre-deceased by his sons, Tom Gaddis, Richard Gaddis, and Daniel Gaddis, two sisters, Annalee Chambless and Marene Maness, and his brother, Thomas Gaddis.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Joann Hudson Gaddis, of the home; two daughters-in-law, Susan Sherman Gaddis of Asheville, NC, and Gina Gaddis of Lumber Bridge, NC; Tracee Warren (fiancé of Richard) of Lake City, Florida; and several grandchildren, one niece, nephews, and their families.
The family would like to acknowledge with gratitude the many helping hands who offered support during this time: Dorthea Lester; Jen Barnes; Mike and Cindy Hernson; Mark and Joann Carter; Charles and Patricia Colson; and Tommy and Angie Underwood.
A service will be held on January 13, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC 28390 with military honors.
After the service, the family will be welcoming greetings at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 3219 Lindsay Rd, Raeford, NC 28376.
