Mrs. Betty Burns Currie of Raeford passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 83.Mrs. Currie was born on September 12, 1937 in Maxton, to the late Jesse Benton Burns and Norma McDowell Burns. She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Edward Currie Jr., her siblings, Helen Priest, Jesse Mae Jackson and Bobby Burns. She attended Shiloh Presbyterian Church and retired from J.P. Stevens in Wagram after 35 years of service.She is survived by her daughter Harriett Currie Johnson of Raeford, NC; a sister, Lina Burns Young of Rock Hill, SC., and host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Monday, December 28, 2020 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at the Raeford Cemetery with Reverend Rufus McLean officiating.Memorials may be made to Shiloh Presbyterian Church, P.O.
