Beverly Hodgin Teal

Dateline: Raeford Beverly H. Teal, 85, wife of Franklin R. Teal, and daughter of Dave and Claudine Hodgin, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Autumn Care of Raeford. Beverly is survived by her son Jimmy and wife Rebecca of Fayetteville, her brother David and wife Linda of Raeford, sisters Janet and Claudine Hodgin of Raeford and San Francisco, respectively, and several nephews and nieces. Beverly graduated from Hoke County High School in 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Raeford. She married Frank Teal on March 2, 1955 and they were married for 59 years until Franks death in 2014. Beverly was a devoted wife and mother whose life centered on others rather than self. She was a tough fighter who battled Alzheimers disease the last ten years of her life. An example of this toughness was when she was placed on Hospice care after a difficult bout with pneumonia in July 2014. After a 6-month stay on Hospice her condition improved, therefore she no longer qualified for Hospice care. However, the years, the illnesses, and the effects of Alzheimers brought an end to her journey. She now embarks on a new journey free of pain and suffering and joined with her husband, father and mother and many loved ones. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 Friday, September 25, 2015 at John C. Ropp Fellowship Hall, Raeford Presbyterian Church. Funeral Service will be 11:30 am Friday September 25, 2105 at Raeford Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Raeford Presbyterian Church Building Fund,128 West Edinborough Ave. Raeford, NC 28376. Crumpler Funeral Home of Raeford has been entrusted with arrangements.
