Mr. Dewey Paul Russ, Sr. 84 years of age, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, February 6, 2012. Dewey was born in Bladen County on December 15, 1927 to the late William Henry Russ and Dovey Blanche Hester. He is preceded in death by his wife, Henrl Estelle Rowe Kelso Russ. He was a retired employee of the State of NC, working as a printer in the Copy Room of Sandhills Community College. Dewey served in US Navy as a Boatswains Mate 2nd Class from 1943 to 1945 during WWII. Survivors include a son, Dewey Paull Russ, Jr.; two step-sons, John C. Kelso, Jr. and William Joseph (Joe) Kelso; two step-daughters, Lee Ann Storm and Mary Kay Reynolds; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest by his wife in Pinebluff Cemetery, Pinebluff, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Christian Church, PO Box 381, Pinebluff, NC 28373.
