Mrs. Ellen Jane Biggs Stevens of Rockfish passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at her sons home in Sanford, at the age of 86. Mrs. Stevens was born February 21, 1931 in Robeson to the late Joseph Calvin Biggs and Dolly Ann Biggs. She is preceded in death by her sons, Calton Derwood "Woody" Tyner, and Joseph Stevens. Mrs. Stevens was employed with Open Arms Retirement Center before she retired. During her retirement she was a caregiver for her son Joseph. She was an avid animal lover. She is survived by her 2 sons, Lacy B. Tyner of Rockfish, NC and Harry M. Tyner and his wife Tammy of Sanford, NC, her daughter, Joanne Hudson of Phoenix, AZ.,9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held 1-3 pm Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home 131 Harris Ave. Raeford, NC A funeral service will be 3pm March 30, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the animal charity of your choice.
