Ethel Evans Gordon

Mrs. Ethel Evans Gordon of 422 Gordon Road, Raeford died Monday, August 8, 2011 at the age of 72. Mrs. Gordon was born in Robeson County on June 20, 1939 to the late George & Ila Thompson Evans. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Gordon. She was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church. She was previously employed at JP Stevens in Wagram and Burlington Industries in Raeford, NC. She is survived by her husband Ronald S. Gordon, three daughters, Sharon Thompkins and husband Jerry of Leland, NC, Rhonda Cole and husband Richie of Jackson Springs, NC, Robin Gordon of Raeford, NC, one son Ronald (Buddy) and wife Angela of Holden Beach, NC, two sisters, Nancy McGuire and Ruth Currie both of Raeford, NC, grandchildren, Heath and Michelle Gaddy, Jesse Gaddy, Paula Thompkins, Travis Thompkins, Silas Cole, Dylan Cole, Joshua and Amber Gordon, Michael and Kristina Gordon, Douglas Fipps and Paula Fipps, eight great-grandchildren and a honorary daughter, Phyllis Fipps of Aberdeen, NC and honorary grandchildren, Larry and Lori McGuire, Karen and Joe Spady and Sessie Fipps-Jackson and ten honorary great-grandchildren. The visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC. Services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church with the Reverend Billy Joe Brady officiating. Interment will be at the Raeford Cemetery, Raeford, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to, Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church, PO Box 1863, Raeford, NC 28376.
