

Mrs. Frances Marsh Gibson McNeill, age 102, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Hospice House of Scotland County. Mrs. McNeill was born in Robeson County on September 22, 1907 to the late William Nathan Gibson and Maude Marsh Gibson. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren C. McNeill Sr. and her son Warren C. McNeill Jr. Mrs. McNeill was a life-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Red Springs, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a graduate of University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was also an avid Bridge player. She is survived by one granddaughter, Susie McNeill Smith and her husband Woody of Laurinburg; two grandsons, Warren C. McNeill III and his wife Barbara of Raleigh, and Waverly B McNeill of Summerville, SC; two great-granddaughters, Mary Beth McNeill of Greensboro and Rebekah C. McNeill of Raleigh; five nieces and nephews, Rosalynde Gibson Cowdrey and her husband David of Jacksonville, Fl, Frances Gibson Marley and her husband W.G. of Raleigh, Samuel Snead and wife Marlene of Red Springs, Helen Gibson of Red Springs, and Louise Elmquist and her husband Rand of Gaithisburg, MD. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 8, from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Crumpler Funeral Home in Red Springs. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Mary Frances McClure officiating, directed by Crumpler Funeral Home.
