Mr. Franklin Allen Spessert of 403 W. Prospect Avenue, Apt 1, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 in his home at the age of 72. Mr. Spessert was born in Wood County, WV on February 23, 1939. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War receiving 2 Purple Hearts, Bronze Star and a Silver Star. He is preceded in death by his father, Teddy Artenis Spessert and a son, Franklin A. Spessert, Jr. Survivors include a son, Teddy Spessert , a daughter, Jillian Spessert, his mother, Nellie Loretta Brock, 3 brothers, Roger Lee Spessert, Teddy Artenis Spessert, Jr. and Paul Brock; 4 sisters, Mary Blanche Miller, JoAnn Morgan, Nancy Rose, and Phyllis Sigley; 2 goddaughters, Christine Chmura, and Melissa Fraser. A Memorial Service will be 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Burns. Care of the family is entrusted to Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC 28376.
