Mrs. Geneva Faye Byrd Lewis 76 of Raeford died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital. Mrs. Lewis was born in Sampson County on September 22, 1937 to the late Percy Evans Byrd and Nannie Hughes Byrd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood Neil Lewis and her son Doug E. Lewis, 8 brothers and 4 sisters. She is the youngest and last of the Byrds to fly home. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her son Frankie N. Lewis of Raeford; 2 daughters, Brenda Faye Lewis of the home, Tammy K. Krumwiede (Scott) of Myrtle Beach, S.C; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 7-9pm Friday, January 17, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home 131 Harris Ave. Raeford, NC. Family will also receive friends at the home 108 Chilton Dr. Raeford, NC. Funeral service will be 1:00pm Saturday, January, 18, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home with Reverend James Wilhide officiating. Entombment will be at Byrd Family Cemetery, Faison, NC.
