Mr. Hector E. 'Eddie' Currie of Red Springs, died Thursday, December 15, 2016, in the Southeastern Hospice House, at the age of 72. Mr. Currie was born in Hoke County on March 2, 1944, to the late William D. and Eva D. Currie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy M. Currie. Mr. Currie was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church and retired from Currie Insurance Agency. Survivors are his son, Kenneth E. Currie and his wife Gwen, of Lumberton; two brothers, Billy Currie and wife Janet and Harold Currie, both of Red Springs; three step grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 19, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Antioch Presbyterian Church. Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Antioch Presbyterian Church, 6563 Red Springs Road, Red Springs, NC 28377 or to West Lumberton Baptist Church, 2320 West 5th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.
