James Quentin Carson

Mr. Carson was born on April 10, 1935, to the late Clarence Q. Carson and Elvira Setliff Carson.

Along with parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Leslie Carson; and his sister, Kay Barnhill.

He retired from Ingersoll Rand in Southern Pines as a machinist after nearly three decades of service. In retirement, he enjoyed watching his vegetable garden grow and sharing the produce with his family and friends. James' favorite pastimes were fishing, walking the farm, and feeding his kitty cats. He was most proud of shaping his granddaughters lives, building memories with them, and sharing their accomplishments.

James is survived by his daughter, Priscilla Wade and husband, Joe of Emerald Isle, NC; his son, Robert Carson and wife Leslie, of Raeford, NC; three grandchildren, Hayleigh Lynch and her husband, Tyler, of Greenville, NC; Rebecca Carson and Emily Carson, both of Raeford, NC; one great grandson, Tucker Lynch; and one niece, Debbie Jackson, of Wilmington, NC.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00 pm at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford on Sunday, September 06, 2026.

A service will follow at 4:00 pm with Mr. John Carter officiating.

Burial will be in the Raeford City Cemetery.
