James Coxe Jim Hasty

Mr. James Coxe (Jim) Hasty of Ocean Isle Beach, formerly of Red Springs, died on Friday March 24, 2017 in his home at Ocean Isle at the age of 71. Jim was born on July 26, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy L. and Doris Holt; adopted parents John W. and Josephine Hasty; and a sister Patricia Ann Tilson. Jim was a well-known Professional Land Surveyor and entrepreneur, who loved his family and was loved by many. He is survived by his wife, Betty Joyce Hasty of Ocean Isle Beach, daughter Jessica Hasty Harris (Avery) and grandson Jameson of Morehead City, NC., step-son Robert E. (Gene) Leach II (Heather) and grandsons Connor and Cole of Grays Creek, NC., step-daughter, Bobbie Joyce (Robyn) Coxe (David) of Wagram, NC., his four brothers, twin brother, John William Hasty (Kathy) of Pinehurst, NC., Robert Holt of Kill Devil Hills, NC; Roy Holt (Celeste), and Ricky Holt (Crystal) of Poplar Branch, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation, 6-8pm Monday, March 27, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral, 220 E. 4th Ave. Red Springs, NC. A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, March 28, at Antioch Presbyterian Church, 6582 Red Springs Rd, Red Springs ,with Reverend Jim Smith and The Reverend Michael McGehee officiating. Interment will be in the Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs, NC.
