James Robert Jim Hendrix

Dateline: Raeford Mr. James (Jim) Robert Hendrix, Jr. 90 of Raeford died Monday, August 26, 2013 at his home. Mr. Hendrix was born May 6, 1923 in Hoke County to the late James Robert Hendrix, Sr. and Maggie McDonald Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Gragg Hendrix, and his son Larry Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix was a member of the Raeford United Methodist Church. He served as a Second Lieutenant in the US Marines during WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Hendrix is survived by 2 sons Jerry R. Hendrix (Sharon) of Carmel IN; Jeff R. Hendrix (Red) of Raeford, NC; 1 brother Earl Hendrix of Raeford,NC; daughter in-law Donna Hendrix of Louisburg, NC; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the family home 2235 Philippi Church Road Raeford NC. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, August 29, 2013 at The Raeford Cemetery officiated by CRE Herman Autry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philippi Presbyterian Church 2800 Philippi Church Road Raeford NC 28376.
