John Reginald Johnie Smith

Mr. John ""Johnie"" Reginald Smith of Raeford died Monday, October 22, 2012 in his home at the age of 64. Mr. Smith was born in Scotland County on February 18, 1948 to the late Mr. Clarence David Smith, Jr. and Connie Edith Ayers Smith. He served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his step-mother, Hattie Pearl Patterson Smith, brother, Donald Eugene Williams, and sister, Linda Yvonne Smith. He is survived by his two sons, Richard Smith, Jonathan Craig Smith and his wife, Renee of Kannapolis; family, John and Merri Manning six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also by his faithful dog, Maggie; brothers, David Lee Williams, Jerry Ray Williams, Ricky Allen Smith, all of Wagram; Sisters, Peggy Ann Williams Hopkins of Wagram, Karen Smith Colson of Maxton, Wanda Gail Smith Davis of Wagram, Sheila Rebecca Smith of Wagram; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Memorial Graveside Service will be 3:00 P.M., Thursday, October 25, 2012 and Bethel Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to extend thanks to John and Merri Manning for being a part of his family and who helped take care of Johnnie during his time of sickness.
