Juanita Wilkie Barefoot

Juanita was a loving spouse and mother who supported military relocations overseas and domestically before settling in Raeford, North Carolina. She was committed to planning and hosting family gatherings as well as dedicating her time and heart to her family, gardening and her church.

She and her husband Delmer started a successful business together in Raeford and spent many years serving the community and building a life together which united two families.

She was a devoted member of Philippi Presbyterian Church who loved to sing in the choir and used her business skills to help the church as secretary, treasurer and a Ruling Elder.

Widowed by Arthur J Wilkie III and Delmer W. Barefoot.

Survived by her children Arthur J. Wilkie IV and his wife Evangelyn P., Kurt J. Wilkie and his wife Suzi, Karl H. Wilkie, Heather Gunther and her husband JD, Toby Foster and her husband Jeff, as well as her sister Mildred Lowder, her grandchildren, Mary Wilkie-Spagatner and husband Maurice, Liz Marshall and husband Bob, Kara Holloman and husband Brandon, Jake & Ava Wilkie as well as Meghan & Jamie Foster, her great grandchildren, Jordan, Ben and Bobby, and her dog Gabriel (aka Gabe), whose love and companionship have been immeasurable.

Juanita’s smile, generosity, creativity and overall loving nature will be missed by family and friends.

The family will have visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Philippi Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the Reverend Mike Baker officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
