Mrs. Mildred Wadkins Winburn of Raeford died Saturday, November 29 in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 88. Mrs. Winburn was born in Richmond County on June 26, 1926 to the late John and Edna D. Wadkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, William George Winburn, Sr and her son, William George Winburn, Jr. She was a loving and caring person, and member of the Raeford United Methodist Church. Mrs. Winburn retired from Burlington Industries after more than 40 years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Carol Winburn of Aberdeen; her sisters, Doris Marsh and her husband, Ken of Statesville and Joy Johnson of Greenville, SC. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m.Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Raeford UMC, 308 N. Main Street, Raeford, NC with the Reverend Dr. Ray Harris and Reverend David Heath officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery in Wagram.
