Dateline: Red Springs Mrs. Minnie Lee Evers Mercer of Red Springs died August 14, 2013 at the age of 91. Mrs. Mercer was born November 26, 1921 in Stanley Co. NC to the late Henry Phillip Evers and Lilly Maude Treece Evers. She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Alvin Mercer. Mrs. Mercer was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She is survived by 3 daughters Elois Locklear of Pembroke, NC; Helen Brinsfield of Wyoming Delaware; Joyce Chavis of Red Springs NC; 1 son Richard Williams of Lumberton, NC; 1 step-son Leon Alvin Mercer of SC; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandson and 1 step granddaughter. A loving pet Mia. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Saturday at Crumpler Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 220 East 4th Avenue, Red Springs with Pastor Randy Locklear officiating. Interment in the Alloway Cemetery.
