He was at Womack Army Medical Center on June 04, 1954, to Shirley Jean Currie and the late Jack Smith Cecil.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harold Brown Currie.
He served in the United States Army for 10 years before moving on to work at Auto Parts and Equipment in Raeford, NC. He retired from Animal Control in Hoke County where he served as director and manager.
Ralph enjoyed deer hunting with his buddies and was the founder and president of the Sandy Ridge Hunting Club. His hobbies also included golfing, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy Cecil; his mother, Shirley Currie; his brothers, Johnny Cecil (Veronica) and William Currie; and his sister, Peggy Cecil Hinds (Mark).
A visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 pm on Wednesday September 30, 2026 at Crumpler Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at Currie Family Cemetery on Rex Currie Road with Pastor Mike Odom officiating.
Services are entrusted to Crumpler Funeral Home.
