

Mrs. Shirley McMillan of 117 Church Street died Friday, October 5, 2012 in FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care at the age of 88. Mrs. McMillan was born on January 6, 1924 in Essex County, MA to the late Gilford Lewis and Idaletta Merchant Lewis. She was preceded in death by her son, Gilford McMillan. Survivors include her husband, Robert McMillan, Sr. of the home; son, Bobby McMillan, Jr. and wife Mary of Pinehurst; daughters, Sandy Haines of Red Springs; Mary Malloy and husband, James of Denver; Kathy Hall and her husband James of Parkton, Shirley Britt and her husband, David of Red Springs, Betsy Stutts and her husband, Mike of Red Springs, Joanna Bullock and her husband, Ralph of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Jean Pelletier of Massachusetts, Patricia Paradise of Margate, FL; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 E. 4th Ave, Red Springs, NC Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Andrews Catholic (formerly Westside Baptist Church), 301 Mercer Ave, Red Springs, NC with Deacon Alexander Vicente officiating. Burial will be in Pheladelpus Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
