
Retired Master Sergeant, Stafford David (Dave) Miller, Jr, of McFarland Blue Road, Raeford, NC passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011. He was 67 years old. He died at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 13, 1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Viola and Stafford Miller. Master Sergeant Miller served as a member of the US Army Special Forces for twenty years, serving his country both at home and overseas in Europe and Vietnam. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren about woodworking and carpentry. He also loved time spent with friends discussing politics and history. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Dee Dee Miller; his sister, Kay Fleming and her husband Marshal of Valdosta, GA; his children: Sandi Campbell and husband, Neil, of Elkton, MD; Richard Ross of Raeford, NC; Mary Watkins and husband, Clay of Eagleville, TN; Jim Butler and wife, Debbie, of Rockingham, NC; Shawn Butler and wife, Jessica, of Havertown, PA; and Nol Butler of Annapolis, MD; Laurie Fingle and her husband, John, of Gatesville, TX, Donna Ghee and husband, Patrick, of College Grove, TN, Donald Wayne Ross and wife, Sue, of Ohio his grandchildren: Jonathan, Victoria and Katherine Campbell, Jennifer and Marvin Ross, Danielle and Elijah Watkins, Ryan and Drew Butler, Hali Hatting, Jacob Butler, Edward Butler, Hobson Butler, Herriott Butler, and Frankie Butler, Katherine and Patrick Guidry, Aaron Moneymaker, Shannon and Tommy Ghee, and his great-granddaughter, Clarissa Hatting. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 40229 US 1 Hwy., Aberdeen, NC 28315. Funeral service will be held following visitation 2:oo pm, Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 40229 US 1 Hwy., Aberdeen, NC 28315. Burial will be in Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet, NC.
