

Mr. Tommie Clifford Tolar, of Lumber Bridge, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the age of 88. Mr. Tolar was born in Robeson County on November 19, 1927 to the late Alfredo and Annie Mae McNeill Tolar. He was preceded in death by his wife Billie Jean Harding Tolar. He was formerly a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon and a member of the Philadelphus Presbyterian Church where he also served as deacon. Mr. Tolar served the community as TV repairman and supplied honey to local residence. He was a member of the Robeson County Beekeepers Association. Mr. Tolar is survived by a son, Billy Clifford Tolar (Kimberly) of New London, NC; 2 daughters, Shelia Kay Allen of Clemmons, NC; Yvonne Harding McCarty(Kurt) of California; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-granchildren. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Archie Barringer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
